  • Dr. Page Wages , DVM

Dr. Page Wages began working at Oberlin as a technician when she was a veterinary student in 2002.  She enjoyed the practice so much that after graduating from NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 she became one of our team!  Dr. Wages is active with the veterinary students at NCSU and participates with Christian Veterinary Mission Short Term missions (annually travels with a group of students to the Navajo Reservation to work on large and small animals).  She is also a regular volunteer for the Second Chance Spay Day, held monthly at the Oberlin facility, where as many as 75 pets are spayed or neutered in a single day.  When not working hard or volunteering, Dr. Wages is taking care of her “mini farm” of chickens, and playing with her pets:  Paddy, Smee and Charlie (the dogs), Franko the crazy cat, and Jack the rabbit! • Dr. Allison Mhoon , DVM

Dr. Allison Mhoon came to Oberlin in 2007 from Florida. Her special interests are dermatology and geriatric medicine. Not only does Dr. Mhoon practice traditional veterinary medicine, but she is also trained in Acupuncture and is working on her certification in Chinese herbal medicine through the Chi Institute. When not working, Dr. Mhoon is spending time with her husband and newborn baby girl! The Mhoon’s also have several pets: Safari, a golden retriever they adopted from Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue, Guiseppe: the cat who thinks he’s a dog, and Savannah who is the sweetest beagle mix you’ll ever meet!

  • Dr. Bethany Riego , DVM

Dr. Bethany Riego also began working at Oberlin as a technician while still in school. Fresh out of the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine program in 2009, Dr. Riego is our newest doctor to the practice, but don’t let her young looks fool you.   Dr. Riego can solve medical mysteries as well as any seasoned Veterinarian!  She also is extremely patient with even the most nervous and aggressive dogs, so that they realize that coming to our office is not so bad.  Dr. Riego and her husband have 2 pets, a cat named Bobbert and a corn snake!  They enjoy spending time outdoors as well as visiting with family and friends.

Management Staff

  • Mrs. Debbie Gordon

Behind every good man there is a great woman, and for Dr. Gordon that woman is Debbie Gordon, our hospital administrator.  Debbie has been behind-the-scenes since Dr. Gordon first opened Oberlin Animal Hospital in 1988.  A graduate of NC State with a degree in mathematics and computer science, Debbie has had a pivotal role in shaping the practice.  She interviews each person for every role in the practice, from doctors to technicians, animal care staff to transcriptionist.  Our practice focus is:  (1) exceptional customer service, (2) trusted client education, and (3) quality medicine.  Debbie has spent the last 20 years focusing on the first two, while Dr. Joe focuses on the third.  The combination appears to be a good one as the practice is the only Veterinary Practice of Excellence in the Triangle and has held the title of “Best in the Triangle” in numerous local publications.  Outside of the practice, Debbie enjoys being a mom to her son, Wade, and her daughter, Meredith.  Their family pets include two GREAT danes, Graham (named after our former commissioner of agriculture, Jim Graham) and Carnegie (adopted after Wade began school at Carnegie Mellon University), an orphan kitty named Mittens, a handful of ducks, a bunny, and an occasional chicken, rooster, or turkey.Vetsuite_Img_83061
